Wildlife watchers will love this site.
A few steps fro your pitch you can spot wagtails, dolphins, cormorants,
otters, oystercatchers and buzzards.
All pitches are just yards from the beach which guarantees uninterrupted
views.
Although Muasdale is ideal for escaping, everyday pressure, you will not
feel that you are roughing it, because the site has a washblock,
dishwashing sinks and launderette.
The site is on the Kintyre Peninsula between the village of Tarbert on
Loch Fyne and the town of Campbeltown. The natural harbour at
Tarbert is lined with shops and pubs and is overlooked by Tarbert
Castle. It's a great place to enjoy some really fresh and tasty
seafood. The annual seafood festival in July draws huge crows and
is well worth attending if your visit coincides. From Tarbert you
can also explore the surrounding unspoilt islands. Ferries leave
the harbour for Gigha, Arran, Islay and Portavadie.
Campbeltown, which sits on the end of the Kintyre Peninsula, is famous
for its whisky. Of the three distilleries here, the best know is
Springbank Distillery. Here you can take a tour to learn about the
distilling process and taste single malt whisky. Campbeltown also
has several museums, an art gallery and striking churches.
Muasdale also takes the title of "Best Small Site" award to
sites with fewer than 20 pitches. visitors praised Muasdale for
its combination of great location, fabulous views and friendly
staff.
