There is direct access from the site to the quiet sandy beach, ideal for sand castles. Safe bathing.  Campfires allowed.

The Kintyre Peninsula offers lots of quiet beaches to explore, ideal for  walkers and those with dogs.  Take care in June/July when wading birds are nesting on the beach.

For the surfing enthusiast there is the long sandy beach at Machrihanish which has rollers coming in from the Atlantic, there is a Surf Shop in Campbeltown with equipment for hire if required.

Seal sat on reef just offshore - one of many that can be spotted most days.

Lots of seals to be spotted on the reef nearby.

With so much wildlife to see don't forget your binoculars or camera, you do not want to miss a photograph opportunity.  Seals can be seen on the reef just off the beach, there can be as many as 30 - 40  at times !!  They are visible most days, they tend to swim past the park when the reef is under water.  If you are lucky you might see some otters too !

Dolphins can be spotted as they pass between us and Cara, sometimes quite close to the reef where to seals stay all day. What a magnificent sight!
