There is direct access from the site to the quiet sandy beach.  The Kintyre Peninsula offers lots of sandy, quiet beaches to explore, ideal for  walkers and those with dogs.

For the surfing enthusiast there is the long sandy beach at Machrihanish which has rollers coming in from the Atlantic, there is a Surf Shop in Campbeltown with equipment for hire if required.    Diving is also possible in many of the bays around Kintyre with compressed air available locally.

Dinghie being launched from beach
Small boats, dinghies and canoes can be
launched from the beach if the currents and
winds are not too strong.

Lots of seals to be spotted.

With so much wildlife to see don't forget your binoculars or camera, you do not want to miss a photograph opportunity.  Seals can be seen on the reef just off the beach, there can be as many as 30 - 40  at times !!  They are visible most days, they tend to swim past the park when reef is under water.  If you are lucky you might see some otters too !

Dolphins can also be seen, they stay and play for a while in the deeper waters between our shores and the Isle of Gigha, what a magnificent sight!
