Tarbert is a small fishing village with a picturesque harbour.  It hosts the famous Seafood Festival during the summer and the Sailing Series in May.  
Remains of Tarbert Castle, there is a display giving historical information. 

Walks can be made from this point:-

Castle Walk
(moderate) - red way markers - 1 mile allow 45 minutes.   Corranbuie Walk (demanding) - blue way markers - 3 miles allow 2 hours. 
Tarbert - Skipness Walk (moderate) - yellow way markers - 9 miles (11 miles to Claonaig) allow 4-5 hours.

Tarbert marks the start of the
Kintyre Way 87 miles, there are turquoise marks throughout the route, allow several days.  The route ends at Dunaverty/Southend, but sections can be walked in various locations.

Paddle steam The Waverley calls here each summer

The last ocean going paddle steamer - The Waverley sets sails from Tarbert Pier during some of the summer months on a Tuesday afternoon. She cruises up and down Loch Fyne, a lovely way of seeing the scenery.
