Muasdale Holiday Park

2008
June. All the
usual birds were spotted. Eider ducks with ducklings
were a regular sight. 68 seals with pups were seen on
the rocks just offshore.
July: All the
usual birds were spotted. Roe Deer was spotted by one
of our statics, most unusual at this time of the year.
Curlews spotted on beach. Otters spotted. Stouts
spotted. Lots of seals with pups.
August: All the usual birds for this time of
year spotted. 3 x Little Egrets spotted at West Loch
Tarbert. A few seals around. Swallows still with
us.
September: All the usual birds spotted.
Herons visit every morning and evening. Whimbrels pop
up on a regular basis. (19th - 26th) Dolphins were spotted
several times, unfortunately not when I was around. Stonechats perch on the highest point in the long
grass and sing away. Robin sits on the wires and chats
all day long. Oyster catchers strut their stuff on the shoreline.
Otter spotted on the shore line, busy eating fish. Roe
Deer + two little ones came down on the hill behind the park
to munch at the fuchsia bushes.
October: All the usual birds spotted.
Whimbrels spotted on the beach. Roe Deer venture onto
the park on a regular basis.
November & December:
All the usual season birds. Whimbrel, stonechats,
ringed plovers, herring gulls, cormorants, wren, blackbird,
thrush, robin, red breasted mergansers, eider ducks, Shelducks, golden eyes, otter, dolphins (27 & 28th
December)
2009
January: All
the usual seasonal garden birds. Seals, Cormorants, Herring
Gulls, Shelducks, Eider Ducks, Ringed Plovers, Robin,
Stonechats, Wren, Blackbirds, Thrush, Golden Eye,
Oystercatchers, Red Shank, Brent Goose, Buzzards, Heron, Crows, Red
Breasted Mergansers, Otter.
February: All the usual seasonal garden birds.
Seals, Cormorants, Herring Gulls, Shelducks, Eider Ducks,
ringed Plovers, Robin, Buzzards, Stonechats, Oystercatchers,
Heron, Red Breasted Mergansers.
March: All the usual seasonal garden birds,
Oystercatchers, Eider Ducks, Cormorants, Herring Gulls,
Shelducks, Otter, Seals, Magpie.
April: All the usual season garden birds,
Swallow arrived back 1 day later than last year, had a head
wind !! Roe deer spotted regularly eat our fuschia
bushes. Great Northern Diver and Whimbrels spotted
several times.
May: All the usual season garden brids.
Oystercatchers, Shelducks, Eider Ducks, Red Breasted
Mergansers, Roe Deer, Seals, Cormorants, Gulls, Terns,
Ringed Plovers, Mallards, Swans, Gannets.

Pigeons, Collared Doves, Carrion Crows (lots), Mallards, Swallows
(nesting), Robin, Wren, Swans, Spotted Flycatcher,

many more species.
